The MGEA5 mgea5 (Catalog #MBS2541983) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MGEA5 Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s MGEA5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF), ELISA (EIA).WB: 1:200-1:2000
IHC: 1:20-1:200
IF: 1:20-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MGEA5 mgea5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The MGEA5 mgea5 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #215490056) (NCBI Accession #NP_001135906.1) (Uniprot Accession #O60502). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the MGEA5 Monoclonal Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot analysis of Human brain lysate using MGEA5 Monoclonal Antibody at dilution of 1:600)
Human meningioma-expressed antigen 5 (MGEA5) has two putative domains including protein O-GlcNAcase domain and histone acetyltransferase domain, therefore it is often called bifunctional protein NCOAT. Three isoforms of MEGE5 are produced by alternative splicing. MGEA5 was found to be regulated to reduce the state of glycosylation of transcitpional activators while increasing the acetylation of histones to allow for the concerted activation of eukaryotic gene transcription, for instance, acetylation of Lys8 of histone H4 and Lys 14 of histone H3 are resulted from acetyltransferase activity. In addition, single nucleotide polymorphism in MGE5A is associated with type 2 diabetes in Mexican Americans. Two bands at 130kDa and 75 kDa could be detected using the present mouse monopolyclonal antibody MGEA5 Antibody, which is consistent with results in a related reference (PubMed:11341771).
Immunogen: Fusion protein of MGEA5. Buffer: PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, PH7.3
Conjugation: Unconjugated. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing MGEA5 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as MGEA5 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Bladder, Blood, Embryonic Tissue, Kidney, Lymph, Lymph Node, Muscle, Prostate, Skin, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein.
