The mGluR1 grm1 (Catalog #MBS179931) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-mGluR1 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s mGluR1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the mGluR1 grm1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The mGluR1 grm1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #493798972) (NCBI Accession #NP_001264993.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q13255). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Anti-mGluR1 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of mGluR1 expression in Mouse brain lysate (MBS179931).
Electrophoresis was performed on a 5-20% SDS-PAGE gel at 70V (Stacking gel) / 90V (Resolving gel) for 2-3 hours. The sample well of each lane was loaded with 50ug of sample under reducing conditions.
After Electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a Nitrocellulose membrane at 150mA for 50-90 minutes. Blocked the membrane with 5% Non-fat Milk/ TBS for 1.5 hour at RT. The membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-GRM1 monoclonal antibody overnight at 4 degree C, then washed with TBS-0.1%Tween 3 times with 5 minutes each and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:10000 for 1.5 hour at RT. The signal is developed using an Enhanced Chemiluminescent detection (ECL) kit with Tanon 5200 system. A specific band was detected for GRM1 )
G-protein coupled receptor for glutamate. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of down-stream effectors. Signaling activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. May participate in the central action of glutamate in the CNS, such as long-term potentiation in the hippocampus and long-term depression in the cerebellum.
Immunogen: A synthesized peptide derived from human mGluR1
Subcellular Localization: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Tissue Specificity: Detected in brain. Contents: Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing mGluR1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as mGluR1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
