The MYOD1 myod1 (Catalog #MBS606837) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MyoD (MYOD1, Myogenic Differentiation 1, bHLHc1, MYF3, Myf-3, Myoblast Determination Protein 1, MYOD, Myogenic Factor 3, PUM) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s MyoD can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (ICC).Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry.
Dilution: Immunocytochemistry: 10ug/ml detects MyoD in C2C12 mouse muscle myoblast cells. Cells were fixed with PBS containing 4% paraformaldehyde for 20 minutes at RT and blocked with PBS containing 10% normal donkey serum, 0.1% Triton® X-100, and 1% BSA for 45 minutes at RT. After blocking, cells were incubated with diluted M9780-05A overnight at 4 degree C followed by fluorochrome-coupled anti-mouse IgG at RT in the dark for one hour. Between each step, cells were washed with PBS containing 0.1% BSA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MYOD1 myod1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The MYOD1 myod1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #34862) (Uniprot Accession #P15172). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

MyoD (myoblast determination protein 1), also called Myf-3 (myogenic factor 3) is an approximately 44kD nuclear protein in the MyoD family of muscle-specific bHLH transcription factors. MyoD family members heterodimerize with E proteins and cooperate with MEF2 family transcription factors to regulate expression of skeletal muscle-specific genes. MyoD is essential for skeletal muscle differentiation. Acetylation at lysines 99, 102 and 104 further regulates its activity.
Immunogen: E. coli- derived recombinant human MyoD, aa77-215 (P15172). Species Sequence Homology: mouse, rat (96%). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing MYOD1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as MYOD1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. MYOD1 also interacts with the following gene(s): CDK4, CSRP3, HDAC1, ID1, JUN, RB1, SP1, SRF, SUV39H1, TCF3. Abdominal Neoplasms, Adenocarcinoma, Breast Neoplasms, Cardiovascular Diseases, Cell Transformation, Neoplastic, Female Urogenital Diseases, Inflammation, Leukemia, Lung Neoplasms, Neoplasm Recurrence, Local are some of the diseases may be linked to MyoD (MYOD1, Myogenic Differentiation 1, bHLHc1, MYF3, Myf-3, Myoblast Determination Protein 1, MYOD, Myogenic Factor 3, PUM).
