Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Myosin, Skeletal Muscle, heavy chain with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human skeletal muscle stained with Myosin, skeletal muscle antibodyM9850-15|using peroxidase-conjugate and AEC chromogen. Note cytoplasmic staining of muscle cells.)
Myosin is a 480kD protein known to interact with actin in muscle and in nonmuscle cells. It contains two identical heavy chains (200kD each) and four light chains (15-26kD). Myosin molecules consist of two major regions: tails (rod) and heads; they aggregate into filaments through the tail region and interact with actin and with ATP through the head region. Multiple forms of myosin heavy chains exist for each muscle type. Skeletal, cardiac, smooth and non-muscle isomyosin forms exist in different types of skeletal muscle, depending on the physiological function of the muscle. These are designated at type I (slow-twitch) and type II (fast-twitch).
Immunogen: Rabbit muscle myosin. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic. MW of Antigen: 480kD. Hybridoma: Hybridization of NS1 myeloma cells with splenocytes from Balb/c mice.
Positive Control: Skeletal muscle. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing Myosin, Skeletal Muscle, heavy chain are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as Myosin, Skeletal Muscle, heavy chain may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
