The Nlgn1 nlgn1 (Catalog #MBS802737) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Neuroligin 1 Antibody: ATTO 488 reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Neuroligin 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).1:1000 WB. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Nlgn1 nlgn1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The Nlgn1 nlgn1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #16758736) (NCBI Accession #NP_446320.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q62765). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot analysis of Mouse Brain Membrane showing detection of ~120 kDa Neuroligin 1 protein using Mouse Anti-Neuroligin 1 Monoclonal Antibody, Clone S97A-31. Lane 1: Molecular Weight Ladder. Lane 2: Mouse Brain Membrane. Load: 15 ug. Block: 2% BSA and 2% Skim Milk in 1X TBST. Primary Antibody: Mouse Anti-Neuroligin 1 Monoclonal Antibody at 1:200 for 16 hours at 4 degree C. Secondary Antibody: Goat Anti-Mouse IgG: HRP at 1:1000 for 1 hour RT. Color Development: ECL solution for 6 min in RT. Predicted/Observed Size: ~120 kDa.)
Background Info: Detects a 120 kDa protein. Does not cross-react with other Neuroligins.
Scientific Background: Neuroligin-1 is a neuronal cell surface protein belonging to the type-B carboxylesterase/lipase family. It is a necessary component in the maturation of excitatory synapses for their normal, functional development, and is necessary to the regulation of synaptic plasticity and the development of long-term memory within the adult amygdala in mammals. It is believed to participate in cell-cell-interaction through the assembly of intracellular junction by the binding of beta-neurexins, and may also be a factor in the maintenance and assembly of synaptic junctions. It is also thought to have involvement in excitatory synaptic specification. Within brain tissue, Neuroligin-1 is primarily observed in neurons and spinal cord.
Conjugate: ATTO 488. Storage Buffer: PBS pH 7.4, 50% glycerol, 0.1% sodium azide PBS pH 7.4, 50% glycerol, 0.1% sodium azide. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing Nlgn1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as Nlgn1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
