The PAPPA pappa (Catalog #MBS219138) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s PAPP-A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PAPPA pappa for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The PAPPA pappa product has the following accession number(s) (GI #38045915) (NCBI Accession #NP_002572.2) (Uniprot Accession #Q13219). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Mouse anti Human PAPP-An antibody, clone 10E1 recognizes human pregnancy-associated plasma protein A, or PAPP-A, a metalloprotease specific for insulin-like growth factor binding protein-4 and -5 (IGFBP4 and IGFBP5). PAPP-A was initially identified as a high-molecular mass component in human pregnancy serum. In pregnancy serum PAPP-An exists in a disulfide bound heterotetrameric complex consisting of two 200kDa PAPP-A subunits and two 50-90kDa subunits of the proform of eosinophil major basic protein (proMBP). The concentration of PAPP-An in serum increases with gestational age, however, in Down\'s syndrome pregnancies PAPP-A concentration is markedly reduced in the first trimester. As such, PAPP-An is widely used as an early marker for Down\'s syndrome. PAPP-A has also been shown to exist in a homodimeric, 400kDa form in unstable atherosclerotic plaques. Increased circulating concentrations of this dimeric PAPP-An are associated with acute coronary syndromes. Mouse anti Human PAPP-An antibody, clone 10E1 recognizes both the heterotetrameric complex (PAPP-An associated with proMBP) and the homodimeric complex of PAPP-A.
Perservative Stabilisers: 0.09% Sodium Azide
Preparation: Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography on Protein A from tissue culture supernatant. Immunogen: Purified human PAPP-A/proMBP complex
Fusion Partners: Spleen cells from immunised BALB/c mice were fused with cells of the Sp2/0 myeloma cell line.
Buffer Solution: Phosphate buffered saline
Target Species: Human. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing PAPPA are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as PAPPA may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. PAPPA also interacts with the following gene(s): IGF1, IGF2, IGFBP4, IGFBP5, PRG2.
