The PCDHA12 pcdha12 (Catalog #MBS648153) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PCDHA12 (Protocadherin alpha-12, PCDH-alpha-12, MGC138485, MGC141932) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s PCDHA12 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA).Suitable for use in ELISA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PCDHA12 pcdha12 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The PCDHA12 pcdha12 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #14165392) (NCBI Accession #NP_114070.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q9UN75). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful. The amino acid sequence is listed below:

Testing Data (Detection limit for recombinant GST tagged PCDHA12 is ~3ng/ml as a capture antibody.)
This gene is a member of the protocadherin alpha gene cluster, one of three related gene clusters tandemly linked on chromosome five that demonstrate an unusual genomic organization similar to that of B-cell and T-cell receptor gene clusters. The alpha gene cluster is composed of 15 cadherin superfamily genes related to the mouse CNR genes and consists of 13 highly similar and 2 more distantly related coding sequences. The tandem array of 15 N-terminal exons, or variable exons, are followed by downstream C-terminal exons, or constant exons, which are shared by all genes in the cluster. The large, uninterrupted N-terminal exons each encode six cadherin ectodomains while the C-terminal exons encode the cytoplasmic domain. These neural cadherin-like cell adhesion proteins are integral plasma membrane proteins that most likely play a critical role in the establishment and function of specific cell-cell connections in the brain. Alternative splicing has been observed and additional variants have been suggested but their full-length nature has yet to be determined.
Immunogen: Partial recombinant corresponding to aa222-328 from human PCDHA12 (NP_061726) with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26kD. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing PCDHA12 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as PCDHA12 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
