The PECAM-1 pecam1 (Catalog #MBS584249) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PECAM-1, Mouse, mAb MEC7.46, FITC reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s PECAM-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, F, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation (IP).Application Notes: FC: Antibody MEC7.46 stains the extracellular domain of mouse PECAM-1; 106 cells were used per sample. No fixation or permeabilization needed. Epitope is sensitive to trypsin! (Ref.1)
Application Use: For immunohistology and flow cytometry dilutions to be used depend on detection system applied. It is recommended that users test the reagent and determine their own optimal dilutions. The typical starting working dilution is 1:50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PECAM-1 pecam1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The PECAM-1 pecam1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #189776) (NCBI Accession #AAA36429.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Product Description: The monoclonal antibody MEC7.46 recognizes the mouse form of the platelet-endothelial cell adhesion molecule (PECAM)-1 (CD31). PECAM-1 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. This heavily glycosylated protein is found in the entire vascular endothelium of adult mice and functions in mediating cellular adhesion by heterophilic and homophilic mechanisms. PECAM-1 is detected within the lymphopoietic islands in the spleen of newborn (day 12) and in the bone marrow of adult mice. Capillary endothelial cells of adult mice also express PECAM-1.
The reactivity of the monoclonal antibody MEC7.46 is restricted to the isoform of the molecule that is selectively expressed by endothelial cells. The antibody precipitates a 130 kDa molecule present on the membrane of endothelial cells of all mouse blood vessels both in normal, inflamed and tumor tissues. The antigen is predominantly present at the lateral borders of endothelial cells as described for human PECAM-1. Staining of MEC7.46 can be seen on capillaries, veins, arteries and liver sinusoids.
Conjugate: FITC
Immunogen: Mouse t.end.1 cells (polyoma middle T (PmT)-transformed EC). Positive Control: Mouse t-end.1 cells. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing PECAM-1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as PECAM-1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
