The PIK3R1 pik3r1 (Catalog #MBS179260) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-PI 3 Kinase p85 alpha Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s PI 3 Kinase p85 alpha can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PIK3R1 pik3r1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The PIK3R1 pik3r1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #335057534) (NCBI Accession #NP_001229395.1) (Uniprot Accession #P27986). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Anti-PI 3 Kinase p85 alpha Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of PI 3 Kinase p85 alpha expression in A431 cell lysate (MBS179260).
Electrophoresis was performed on a 5-20% SDS-PAGE gel at 70V (Stacking gel) / 90V (Resolving gel) for 2-3 hours. The sample well of each lane was loaded with 50ug of sample under reducing conditions.
After Electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a Nitrocellulose membrane at 150mA for 50-90 minutes. Blocked the membrane with 5% Non-fat Milk/ TBS for 1.5 hour at RT. The membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-PIK3R1 monoclonal antibody overnight at 4 degree C, then washed with TBS-0.1%Tween 3 times with 5 minutes each and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:10000 for 1.5 hour at RT. The signal is developed using an Enhanced Chemiluminescent detection (ECL) kit with Tanon 5200 system. A specific band was detected for PIK3R1 )
Binds to activated (phosphorylated) protein-Tyr kinases, through its SH2 domain, and acts as an adapter, mediating the association of the p110 catalytic unit to the plasma membrane. Necessary for the insulin-stimulated increase in glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis in insulin-sensitive tissues. Plays an important role in signaling in response to FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3, FGFR4, KITLG/SCF, KIT, PDGFRA and PDGFRB. Likewise, plays a role in ITGB2 signaling (PubMed: 17626883, PubMed: 19805105, PubMed: 7518429). Modulates the cellular response to ER stress by promoting nuclear translocation of XBP1 isoform 2 in an ER stress- and/or insulin-dependent manner during metabolic overloading in the liver and hence plays a role in glucose tolerance improvement (PubMed: 20348923).
Immunogen: A synthesized peptide derived from human PI 3 Kinase p85 alpha
Tissue Specificity: Isoform 2 is expressed in skeletal muscle and brain, and at lower levels in kidney and cardiac muscle. Isoform 2 and isoform 4 are present in skeletal muscle (at protein level).
