The PLAP alpp (Catalog #MBS476031) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Placental alkaline phosphatase (PLAP) Mouse mAb reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Placental alkaline phosphatase (PLAP) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PLAP alpp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The PLAP alpp product has the following accession number(s) (GI #94721246) (NCBI Accession #NP_001623.3) (Uniprot Accession #P05187). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Anti-Placental alkaline phosphatase (PLAP) Mouse mAb with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of extracts from HepG2 cell lysates using Placental alkaline phosphatase (PLAP) mouse mAb (1:1000 diluted).Predicted band size:70KDa.Observed band size:70KDa.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded ovarian cancer (A), stomach cancer (B) using ALPP mouse mAb with DAB staining.)
Entrez Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is an alkaline phosphatase, a metalloenzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphoric acid monoesters. It belongs to a multigene family composed of four alkaline phosphatase isoenzymes. The enzyme functions as a homodimer and has a catalytic site containing one magnesium and two zinc ions, which are required for its enzymatic function. The protein is primarily expressed in placental and endometrial tissue; however, strong ectopic expression has been detected in ovarian adenocarcinoma, serous cystadenocarcinoma, and other ovarian cancer cells. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2015].
Immunogen: Purified recombinant fragment of human ALPP expressed in E Coli.
Sequence Similarities: Belongs to the alkaline phosphatase family. Subunit Structure: Homodimer.
Subcellular Location: Cell membrane; Lipid-anchor; GPI-anchor. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing PLAP are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as PLAP may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. PLAP also interacts with the following gene(s): PTS. Amniotic Fluid, Heart, Intestine, Placenta, Uterus tissues are correlated with this protein.
