|The PP5 ppp5c (Catalog #MBS807048) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Anti-Human PP5 Monoclonal IgG1 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s PP5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).
Western Blot: 1:1000
Optimal dilutions should be determined by the user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PP5 ppp5c for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The PP5 ppp5c product has the following accession number(s) (GI #5453958) (NCBI Accession #NP_006238.1) (Uniprot Accession #P53041). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Color Development: ECL solution for 6 min at RT. Predicted/Observed Size: ~58 kDa.)
Proteins in this family participate in pathways regulated by reversible phosphorylation at serine and threonine residues, potentially playing a role in the regulation of cell growth and differentiation. PP5 or PPT is predominantly a nuclear protein and interacts with CDC16 and CDC27. It is found in association with several proteins that influence intracellular signlaing-cascades intitiated by hormones (glucocorticoids) or cellular stress (hypoxia, oxidative stress and DNA Damage). It phosphorylates serine residues of skeletal muscle phorylatse and histone H1. It may also be involved in mitosis and RNA biogenesis regulation (1,2).

Available antibodies recognizing PP5 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as PP5 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
