The PYK2 ptk2b (Catalog #MBS850050) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PYK2 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s PYK2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA).WB: 1:500-1:2000
IHC: 1:200-1:1000
ELISA: 1:10000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PYK2 ptk2b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The PYK2 ptk2b product has the following accession number(s) (GI #27886584) (NCBI Accession #NP_004094.3) (Uniprot Accession #Q14289). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the PYK2 Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Figure 1. Western blot analysis using PYK2 mouse mAb against Raji (1), PMA induced THP-1 (2), Jurkat (3) and Ramos (4) cell lysate.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Figure 2. Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human Tonsil tissues using PYK2 mouse mAb.)
PYK2. PTK2B protein tyrosine kinase 2 beta, also known as PTK2B, PKB, PTK, CAKB, FAK2, FRNK. Entrez Protein NP_004094. It is a cytoplasmic protein tyrosine kinase which is involved in calcium-induced regulation of ion channels and activation of the map kinase signaling pathway. The encoded protein may represent an important signaling intermediate between neuropeptide-activated receptors or neurotransmitters that increase calcium flux and the downstream signals that regulate neuronal activity. The encoded protein undergoes rapid tyrosine phosphorylation and activation in response to increases in the intracellular calcium concentration, nicotinic acetylcholine receptor activation, membrane depolarization, or protein kinase C activation. This protein has been shown to bind CRK-associated substrate, nephrocystin, GTPase regulator associated with FAK, and the SH2 domain of GRB2. The encoded protein is a member of the FAK subfamily of protein tyrosine kinases but lacks significant sequence similarity to kinases from other subfamilies. Four transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Immunogen: Purified recombinant fragment of PYK2 (aa815-997) expressed in E. Coli. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing PYK2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as PYK2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
