The RBP4 rbp4 (Catalog #MBS2544502) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti MouseRBP4 Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s RBP4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF).ICC/IF: 10-25 mug/mL. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RBP4 rbp4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The RBP4 rbp4 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #1021312411). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4) is the specific carrier for retinol (also known as vitamin A), and is responsible for the conversion of unstable and insoluble retinol in aqueous solution into stable and soluble complex in plasma through their tight interaction. As a member of the lipocalin superfamily, RBP4 containing a beta-barrel structure with a well-defined cavity is secreted from the liver, and in turn delivers retinol from the liver stores to the peripheral tissues. In plasma, the RBP4-retinol complex interacts with transthyretin (TTR), and this binding is crucial for preventing RBP4 excretion through the kidney glomeruli. RBP4 expressed from an ectopic source efficiently delivers retinol to the eyes, and its deficiency affects night vision largely. Recently, RBP4 as an adipokine, is found to be expressed in adipose tissue and correlated with obesity, insulin resistance (IR) and type 2 diabetes (T2DM).
Immunogen: Recombinant Mouse RBP4 protein
Buffer: 0.2 mum filtered solution in PBS. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing RBP4 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as RBP4 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. RBP4 also interacts with the following gene(s): ALB, BCMO1, BCO2, ORM1, RBP1, RPE65, STRA6, TTR. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Fatty Liver, Glucose Intolerance, Hyperglycemia, Inflammation, Kidney Diseases, Liver Diseases, Necrosis, Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Weight Loss are some of the diseases may be linked to Rabbit anti MouseRBP4 Monoclonal Antibody.
