The RHO rho (Catalog #MBS249482) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Rhodopsin / RHO Antibody (clone B630) IHC-plus reacts with Mouse, Bovine, Rat, Pig, Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Rhodopsin / RHO can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB).ICC (1:1000)
IF (1:1000)
IHC-P (10 ug/ml)
WB (1:5000). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RHO rho for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The RHO rho product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4506527) (NCBI Accession #NP_000530.1) (Uniprot Accession #P08100). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Anti-Rhodopsin / RHO Antibody (clone B630) IHC-plus with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Anti-Rhodopsin / RHO antibody IHC staining of human retina. Immunohistochemistry of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue after heat-induced antigen retrieval. Antibody concentration 10 ug/ml.)
Immunocytochemistry (ICC) (High magnification confocal image of pig retinal section stained with Rhodopsin / RHO antibody (Green). Rhodopsin is most abundant in the rod outer segments (ROS) of retina, clearly localized in rod membranes. The rod inner segments (RIS) and rod nuclei in the outer nuclear layer (ONL) are also seen in this image. Nuclear DNA was stained with DAPI (blue).)
Western Blot (WB) (Blot of bovine retinal extracts probed with Rhodopsin / RHO antibody. The antibody stains a band corresponding to retinal rhodopsin at about 35kDa. Bands about 70 kDa and 140 kDa are aggregated forms of rhodopsin. Note, due to the highly hydrophobic nature of rhodopsin, it important to avoid boiling samples containing this protein it in SDS-PAGE sample buffer, as this will result in even more extensive aggregation of the rhodopsin protein and appearance of more of this high molecular weight material.)
RHO Antibody, CSNBAD1 Antibody, OPN2 Antibody, Rhodopsin Antibody, RP4 Antibody, Opsin 2, rod pigment Antibody, Opsin-2 Antibody Description: Retinitis pigmentosa is an inherited progressive disease which is a major cause of blindness in western communities. It can be inherited as an autosomal dominant, autosomal recessive, or X-linked recessive disorder. In the autosomal dominant form, which comprises about 25% of total cases, approximately 30% of families have mutations in the gene encoding the rod photoreceptor-specific protein rhodopsin.
Target Species: Human. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing RHO are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as RHO may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
