SAP18, also known as Sin3A-associated protein, which includes Sin3 (protein with four putative paired amphipathic helix domains), HDCA1 and HDCA2, is component of the histone deacetylase complex that plays an important role in the regulation of eukaryotic gene expression. This protein directly interacts with SIN3 and enhances SIN3-mediated transcriptional repression when tethered to the promoter. It also has been shown to play a key role in gene-specific recruitment of the HDAC complex by a number of transcription factors including Gli, GAGA, and Bicoid.
Immunogen: Recombinant human transcriptional repressor SAP18 (18kD). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing SAP18 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as SAP18 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. SAP18 also interacts with the following gene(s): HDAC1, SUFU. Carcinoma are some of the diseases may be linked to SAP18 (SIN3-Associated Protein, p18). Bone, Embryonic Tissue, Mouth, Muscle, Ovary, Salivary Gland, Testis tissues are correlated with this protein.
