The SDCBP sdcbp (Catalog #MBS857735) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SDCBP (Syntenin) Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s SDCBP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SDCBP sdcbp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The SDCBP sdcbp product has the following accession number(s) (GI #55749490) (NCBI Accession #NP_001007068.1) (Uniprot Accession #O00560). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

UniPort Summary Function: Seems to function as an adapter protein. In adherens junctions may function to couple syndecans to cytoskeletal proteins or signaling components. Seems to couple transcription factor SOX4 to the IL-5 receptor (IL5RA). May also play a role in vesicular trafficking. Seems to be required for the targeting of TGFA to the cell surface in the early secretory pathway.
Entrez Summary: The protein encoded by this gene was initially identified as a molecule linking syndecan-mediated signaling to the cytoskeleton. The syntenin protein contains tandemly repeated PDZ domains that bind the cytoplasmic, C-terminal domains of a variety of transmembrane proteins. This protein may also affect cytoskeletal-membrane organization, cell adhesion, protein trafficking, and the activation of transcription factors. The protein is primarily localized to membrane-associated adherens junctions and focal adhesions but is also found at the endoplasmic reticulum and nucleus. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
Immunogen: Purified recombinant human SDCBP protein fragments expressed in E Coli.
Cellular Localization: Nucleus. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing SDCBP are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as SDCBP may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
