Mouse anti Simian Virus 5 antibody, clone SV5-Pk1 recognizes the Simian Virus 5 (SV5), binding to an epitope on the P/V proteins.SV5 has been isolated from a range of species including human, canine, porcine and simian. There is evidence that it may infect a range of cell lines, including immortalised cells as well as primary monkey kidney cells. Infection of primary monkey kidney cells may lead to confusing results in viral procedures that use these cells for viral isolation.

Target Species: Viral. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing SIMIAN VIRUS 5 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as SIMIAN VIRUS 5 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
