|The SPTBN4 sptbn4 (Catalog #MBS807103) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Anti-Human beta 4 Spectrin Monoclonal IgG1 reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s beta 4 Spectrin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF).
Western Blot: 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SPTBN4 sptbn4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The SPTBN4 sptbn4 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #115430237) (NCBI Accession #NP_066022.2) (Uniprot Accession #Q9H254). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Western Blot (WB)
Spectrin is the major constituent of the cytoskeletal network underlying the erthrocyte plasma membrane and determines cell shape, arrangement of transmembrane proteins and organization of organelles. It is expressed at very low levels in many tissues, with the strongest expression in the cerebellum, spinal cord, stomach, pituitary gland, liver, pancreas, salivary gland, kidney, bladder and heart (1). Spectrin beta 4 is a non-erythrocyte member, and is expressed in the brain and pancreatic islets and localisted to the nuclear matrix, cytoplasmic vesicles and PML nuclear bodies. Beta4 spectrins are also essential for membrane stability and the molecular organization of the nodes of Ranvier (2).
Immunogen: Fusion protein amino acids 1621-1832 (C-terminal repeats 14 to 15) of human Beta4-spectrin
Immunogen Species: Human. COA: A 1:100 dilution was sufficient for detection of Beta 4 Spectrin in 20 ug of mouse brain lysate by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Storage Buffer: PBS pH7.4, 50% glycerol, 0.1% sodium azide
Conjugate: ATTO 594
Cellular Localization: Cytoplasm, Cytoskeleton, Cytoplasm, Cell Cortex. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing SPTBN4 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as SPTBN4 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
