The SSTR3 sstr3 (Catalog #MBS476526) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-SSTR3 Mouse mAb reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s SSTR3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SSTR3 sstr3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The SSTR3 sstr3 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4557861) (NCBI Accession #NP_001042.1) (Uniprot Accession #P32745). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Entrez Summary: This gene encodes a member of the somatostatin receptor protein family. Somatostatins are peptide hormones that regulate diverse cellular functions such as neurotransmission, cell proliferation, and endocrine signaling as well as inhibiting the release of many hormones and other secretory proteins. Somatostatin has two active forms of 14 and 28 amino acids. The biological effects of somatostatins are mediated by a family of G-protein coupled somatostatin receptors that are expressed in a tissue-specific manner. Somatostatin receptors form homodimers and heterodimers with other members of the superfamily as well as with other G-protein coupled receptors and receptor tyrosine kinases. This protein is functionally coupled to adenylyl cyclase. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
Immunogen: Purified recombinant fragment of human SSTR3 (AA: 1-43) expressed in E Coli. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing SSTR3 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as SSTR3 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
