The STAT3 stat3 (Catalog #MBS831137) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s STAT3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB).ELISA: 1:10,000
WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the STAT3 stat3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The STAT3 stat3 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #13272532) (NCBI Accession #AAK17196.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q9BXH2). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Mouse monoclonal STAT3 antibody.
Biological Significance: STAT3 is a member of the STAT protein family. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by the receptor associated kinases, and then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the cell nucleus where they act as transcription activators. This protein is activated through phosphorylation in response to various cytokines and growth factors including IFNs, EGF, IL5, IL6, HGF, LIF and BMP2. This protein mediates the expression of a variety of genes in response to cell stimuli, and thus plays a key role in many cellular processes such as cell growth and apoptosis. The small GTPase Rac1 has been shown to bind and regulate the activity of this protein. PIAS3 protein is a specific inhibitor of this protein. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. Cross-Reactivity: Human
Immunogen: STAT3 antibody was raised in Mouse using a purified recombinant fragment of STAT3 expressed in E Coli as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing STAT3 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as STAT3 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Blood, Bone, Bone Marrow, Brain, Heart, Liver, Lung, Muscle, Skin, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein. STAT3 also interacts with the following gene(s): CCND1, CREBBP, EGFR, EP300, JAK1, JAK2, JAK3, MTOR, SRC, STAT1.
