|The STC2 stc2 (Catalog #MBS9200196) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The STC2 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s STC2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA).
WB~~1:100~250. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the STC2 stc2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The STC2 stc2 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4507267) (NCBI Accession #NP_003705.1) (Uniprot Accession #O76061). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

This gene encodes a secreted, homodimeric glycoprotein
that is expressed in a wide variety of tissues and may have
autocrine or paracrine functions. The encoded protein has 10 of its
15 cysteine residues conserved among stanniocalcin family members
and is phosphorylated by casein kinase 2 exclusively on its serine
residues. Its C-terminus contains a cluster of histidine residues
which may interact with metal ions. The protein may play a role in
the regulation of renal and intestinal calcium and phosphate
transport, cell metabolism, or cellular calcium/phosphate
homeostasis. Constitutive overexpression of human stanniocalcin 2
in mice resulted in pre- and postnatal growth restriction, reduced
bone and skeletal muscle growth, and organomegaly. Expression of
this gene is induced by estrogen and altered in some breast
Antigen Type: Recombinant Protein. Antigen Source: HUMAN. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing STC2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as STC2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Adenocarcinoma, Breast Neoplasms, Cardiovascular Diseases, Kidney Diseases, Liver Diseases, Liver Neoplasms, Neoplasm Metastasis, Neoplasms, Experimental, Nervous System Diseases, Ovarian Neoplasms are some of the diseases may be linked to STC2 Antibody. Blood, Bone, Brain, Embryonic Tissue, Intestine, Kidney, Liver, Muscle, Ovary, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein. STC2 also interacts with the following gene(s): GHR, HIF1A, HMOX1, PTH, UBC, XKR4.
