The SUR1 / SUR2B abcc9 (Catalog #MBS190656) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s SUR1 / SUR2B can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoblot (IB).Immunoblotting: Use at 1-2ug/ml. A band of ~175kDa is detected. Smaller fragments, most likely due to cleavage products, are also detected. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SUR1 / SUR2B abcc9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The SUR1 / SUR2B abcc9 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #3273501) (NCBI Accession #AAC24758.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Sulfonylurea receptors (SUR) are membrane proteins that are molecular targets of the sulfonylurea class of antidiabetic drugs whose mechanism of action is to promote insulin release from pancreatic beta cells. SUR proteins are subunits of the inward-rectifier potassium ion channels Kir6.x (6.1 and 6.2). The association of four Kir6.x and four SUR subunits form an ion conducting channel commonly referred to as the KATP channel. The primary function of the SUR is to sense intracellular levels of ATP and ADP and facilitate the opening or closing of its associated Kir6.x potassium channel, thus monitoring the energy balance within cells.
Antigen: Fusion protein corresponding to aa 1503-1545 (VHTILTADLVIVMKRGNILEYDTPESLLA QEDGVFASFVRADM, cytoplasmic C-terminus) of rat SUR2B (accession no. Q63563-2). Positive Control: Mouse brain lysate.
Dilution Instructions: Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing SUR1 / SUR2B are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as SUR1 / SUR2B may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Colon tissues are correlated with this protein. Arrhythmias, Cardiac, Cantu syndrome, Cardiomegaly, Cardiovascular Diseases, Death, Disease Models, Animal, Heart Diseases, Hypertension, Hypertrophy, Myocardial Infarction are some of the diseases may be linked to SUR1 / SUR2B Monoclonal Antibody.
