The TIMP2 timp2 (Catalog #MBS837862) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s TIMP2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).WB: 1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TIMP2 timp2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The TIMP2 timp2 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #823672964) (NCBI Accession #AKI71693.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the TIMP2 antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot analysis of HEK293T cell lysates (5 ug) transfected with either recombinant TIMP2 protein (Right) or empty vector (Left) detected with TIMP2 antibody)
Mouse monoclonal TIMP2 antibody.
Biological Significance: TIMP2 is a member of the TIMP gene family. The proteins encoded by this gene family are natural inhibitors of the matrix metalloproteinases, a group of peptidases involved in degradation of the extracellular matrix. In addition toan inhibitory role against metalloproteinases, the encoded protein has an unique role among TIMP family members in its ability to directly suppress the proliferation of endothelial cells. As a result, the encoded protein may be critical to the maintenance of tissue homeostasis by suppressing the proliferation of quiescent tissues in response to angiogenic factors, and by inhibiting protease activity in tissues undergoing remodelling of the extracellular matrix. Cross-Reactivity: Human
Immunogen: TIMP2 antibody was raised in mouse using a full length recombinant protein of human TIMP2 (NP_003246) produced in HEK293T cells, as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing TIMP2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as TIMP2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. TIMP2 also interacts with the following gene(s): FURIN, MMP10, MMP13, MMP14, MMP16, MMP2, MMP8, MMP9, RECK. Blood, Bone, Embryonic Tissue, Heart, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Muscle, Uterus, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Cardiovascular Diseases, Disease Models, Animal, Fibrosis, Heart Diseases, Inflammation, Kidney Diseases, Liver Diseases, Necrosis, Neoplasm Invasiveness, Neoplasm Metastasis are some of the diseases may be linked to TIMP2 antibody.
