The TRPC5 trpc5 (Catalog #MBS802588) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TrpC5 Antibody: ATTO 390 reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s TrpC5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).1ug/mL (WB), 0.1ug/mL (IHC/ICC), 1-10ug/mL (IF). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TRPC5 trpc5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The TRPC5 trpc5 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #6912736) (NCBI Accession #NP_036603.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q9UL62). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the TrpC5 Antibody: ATTO 390 with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry analysis using Mouse Anti-TrpC5 Monoclonal Antibody, Clone S67-15. Tissue: Brain Slice. Species: Mouse. Fixation: 10% Formalin Solution for 12-24 hours at RT. Primary Antibody: Mouse Anti-TrpC5 Monoclonal Antibody at 1:1000 for 1 hour at RT. Secondary Antibody: HRP/DAB Detection System: Biotinylated Goat Anti-Mouse, Streptavidin Peroxidase, DAB Chromogen (brown) for 30 minutes at RT. Counterstain: Mayer Hematoxylin (purple/blue) nuclear stain at 250-500 ul for 5 minutes at RT. Localization: Nuclear staining. Magnification: 10X.)
Background Info: Detects ~110kDa.
Scientific Background: Transient receptor potential cation channel, subfamily C, member 5, also known as TRPC5, is a subtype of the TRPC family of mammalian transient receptor potential ion channels. Homo-multimeric TRPC5 and hetero-multimeric TRPC5-TRPC1 channels are activated by extracellular reduced thioredoxin (3). This activation probably plays a role in rheumatoid arthritis. It has also been recently found to be involved in the action on anaesthetics such as chloroform, halothane and propofol (4).
Conjugate: ATTO 390. Storage Buffer: PBS pH7.4, 50% glycerol, 0.09% sodium azide. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing TRPC5 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as TRPC5 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. TRPC5 also interacts with the following gene(s): FKBP4, STIM1, TRPC1, TRPC3, TRPC4, TRPC6.
