anti-GAB1 antibody product blogThe GAB1 gab1 (Catalog #MBS9602566) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GAB1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s GAB1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemisty (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS).
IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GAB1 gab1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The GAB1 gab1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #46370073) (NCBI Accession #NP_002030.2) (Uniprot Accession #Q13480). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Western Blot (WB) (Figure 1: Western blot analysis using GAB1 mAb against human GAB1 (AA: 661-724) recombinant protein. (Expected MW is 32.4 kDa))
Description: Grb2-associated binding protein 1 is a member of the IRS-1-like multisubstrate docking protein family. Contains an N-terminal pleckstrin homology (PH) domain and several proline-rich SH3 domain-binding sequences. Mediates branching tubulogenesis and plays a central role in cellular growth response, transformation and apoptosis.
Function: Adapter protein that plays a role in intracellular signaling cascades triggered by activated receptor-type kinases. Plays a role in FGFR1 signaling. Probably involved in signaling by the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and the insulin receptor (INSR).
Subunit Structure: Interacts with GRB2 and with other SH2-containing proteins. Interacts with phosphorylated LAT2. Interacts with PTPRJ. Identified in a complex containing FRS2, GRB2, GAB1, PIK3R1 and SOS1. Interacts (phosphorylated) with PTPN11. Interacts with HCK.
Post-translational Modifications: Phosphorylated in response to FGFR1 activation. Phosphorylated on tyrosine residue(s) by the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and the insulin receptor (INSR). Tyrosine phosphorylation of GAB1 mediates interaction with several proteins that contain SH2 domains. Phosphorylated on tyrosine residues by HCK upon IL6 signaling.
Similarity: Belongs to the GAB family.
Immunogen: Purified recombinant fragment of human GAB1 expressed in E. Coli. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing GAB1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as GAB1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
